And it’s officially October, which is arguably the best month of the entire year. The leaves on the trees are already beginning to change to warmer colors, and—despite the high temperatures coming for us these next few days—there’s an undeniable autumnal quality to the air. It’s finally acceptable to start rolling the scary movies and carving pumpkins, and the Halloween Charity Ball countdown is pretty much in full swing. Only three-and-a-half more weeks! Have you figured out what you’re going to wear yet?
So far, on this new blog, we’ve had the chance to talk about the nonprofit organizations benefiting from the Halloween Charity Ball this year, as well as our main sponsors. If you haven’t had the chance to read some of our previous blog posts yet, you should definitely do so, just to get an idea of what this is all about.
As we get closer and closer to the big event, the plan is to start using this as a platform for offering fun, Halloweeny ideas that’ll be sure to get you in the mood for the holiday. Today, though, we want to talk about the stunning venue, which, over the years, has helped make the Halloween Charity Ball that much more glamorous.
If you’ve driven down West Market Street, you’ve seen the blue dome and Moroccan-style architecture that make the Tangier so beautiful from the outside. If you’re lucky, perhaps you’ve even gotten to see one or more of the eleven elegant rooms inside the building—whether while attending a wedding reception, a holiday party, a senior prom, or a concert of some special musical guest.
And, seriously, they have welcomed some impressive musical guests over the years, from Tina Turner to Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons, with countless more gracing the stage in the building’s World-Famous Cabaret. The music is not a thing of the past, though. On their website, a list of upcoming entertainment can be found.
The Tangier does an incredible job hosting these events, and what’s more is that they also provide delicious food both in their Legendary Dining Room and their Backstage Bar. They’re known well for their savory fish, steaks, and Lebanese food, as well as a variety of new menus—which certainly do not disappoint. This is Akron’s leading event center for a reason, and it has been providing its signature food and entertainment for three generations now, ever since it was opened in 1948 by Ed George, Sr.
We’re pretty lucky. In three-and-a-half short weeks, we’re all going to get to experience the Tangier firsthand. They’ve been the chosen venue for the Halloween Charity Ball for many years now, and they’ve been so good to us the entire time. We hope that, when you spend the night dancing on their dance floor, you’ll appreciate them just as much as we do.
As always, we leave you with this: Please go buy your tickets. Support an important cause and have a wild time while doing so.
See you soon!
